19-0000 REGISTRATION
The 19- Prefix designates the Amateur built category which provides CASA/RAA approval to fly a one of type aircraft. This category allows for custom fabrication of an aircraft without having to go through all the factory type approval process. This means the builder enjoys the flexibility and freedom to create and craft an aircraft to their specifications. The owner benefits because under this category the aircraft can keep improving with time instead of out dating. The owner can maintain, modify, repair and upgrade the aircraft without having to keep it to a factory spec!
Once a 19- aircraft is fully registered it enjoys the same priveleges as any other aircraft except it can not be used for training students unless for the owner/builder.
With a factory approved 32- Prefix, you get what you get and you can not modify it in any way unless a factory approved modification. If you need parts you must purchase the original parts from the manufacturer.
